I AM CANADIAN

This phrase is and has been very popular for the last few years....in my neck of the (Canadian) woods :) and also dubbed a slogan for a popular company in my country also.

People tell me that WHILE i SHARE (my thoughts, my rants, my messages and guidance I receive) ---
some feedback that I have received tells me that  - I DO NOT SHARE anything PERSONAL.

So here it is...The image I share with you today is one of the many images that stand for my country and also  a structure that I hold dear to me.
This is an Inukshuk.  Wikipedia describes this image as;  The word inuksuk means "something which acts for or performs the function of a person".

In my country, this Inukshuk as it was explained to me many years ago, is and always has been constructed to act as a form of WELCOME.

There is nothing dearer or more sincere, in my estimation - than BEing welcomed.

I am 'from' Northern Ontario (although the 'true' Northerners would challenge that!) however whenever I have the opportunity to drive North along the highways
....I KNOW that I am BE-ing WELCOMED ..... because the highways are - minute by minute  -  literally  DECORATED with Inukshuks.....the feeling as a traveller is MONUMENTAL!
I am not sure who builds these beautiful testaments  to all who are travelling, (as you travel mile by mile the count is in the hundreds, thousands - all placed at various points high up on the rock cliffs that  are by the side of the Northern highways)

None of them are very ornate or 'fancy' however the sheer number of them  - is overwhelming and gratifying - I WISH you to KNOW that ... we FEEL your welcome....so deeply.

I have an Inukshuk in my front garden - just in front of my rose bush...so that all who come to my front door are also - welcomed.
My message to all who arrive at my front door is quite simply...I WELCOME YOU.
I intend to build another LARGER Inukshuk this summer.... and am INSPIRED by some wonderful pictures I have found randomly on  Google

The whole point of Inukshuks is to choose the stones that 'call to you' and to build your Inukshuk in any way that you feel YOUR WELCOME should extend itself.

Inukshuks, just like people, come in all shapes and sizes - however the message is always the same -
WE WELCOME YOU.

WELCOMING wishes into your area of the World,
